Complete Multi Vitamins - Because YOUR Health is at Stake!
Just what are complete multi vitamins?
That is a matter we deal with relatively often. Given all the vitamins available out there, it can be a little bit baffling to
select the perfect one.
In our judgment, the multivitamins that match this description are those that have more than merely vitamins! They would
additionally be full of added nutrients for example minerals, trace minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and much more.
Complete multi vitamins must have minerals, for instance. Minerals are present in the ground and are required for our continual
excellent health.
Minerals will only be contained in the fruits and vegetables we consume if those minerals were initially present in the ground
our produce was grown in.
The soils of in the present day are thought to have a much smaller amount of mineral content as today's farming has developed
into more exhaustive techniques. As a matter of fact, U.S. Senate Document #264 tells us just that. This is why it is crucial that complete multi vitamins have minerals as
well.
Complete multi vitamins are supposed to also contain chromium. Chromium has
been proven to notably lower blood sugar levels.
Even if you are not diabetic, lowering blood sugar levels can be of assistance to stave off type 2 or adult onset diabetes.
Complete multi vitamins should in addition contain selenium. Selenium is an impressive
antioxidant. Antioxidants have been demonstrated to facilitate in preventing up to 60 chronic diseases. Many multivitamins purchased over the
counter do not have selenium.
How about CoQ10. CoQ10 provides the power to maintain your heart strong.
Also complete multi vitamins should provide nutrients for example spirulina, lutein, ginseng, and pycnogenol or
pine bark/grape seed extract.
And certainly complete multi vitamins must contain vitamins.
Although this goes without needing a mention, you want to confirm that the vitamins are provided in adequate quantities.
Minimum Daily Requirements
There are two schools of opinion on this. The first will declare o you that the minimum daily requirements as decided by the U.S.
government are supposed to be everything you require. Further up to date research seems to hint otherwise.
Most so called complete multi vitamins you buy just hardly contain the minimum daily requirements of just some nutrients. A few
may even have upwards of 200% of the minimum daily requirements.
But except in the case of Vitamin A (but not beta carotene), some think this still may be a bit to low for optimal health...
especially when it comes to Vitamins C, D, E and your B vitamins.
Minimum daily requirements were in the beginning set up to make certain that folks did not come up with a deficiency disease such
as rickets (vitamin D) or scurvy (vitamin C).
Today there is a momentum to have the daily requirements go further than simply preventing nutrient deficiencies to optimizing
one's health by reducing your chance of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis.
Harvard School of Public Health Says What ...?
None other than Harvard School of Public Health weighed in by stating that the, "... intake of several vitamins above the minimum daily
requirement may prevent heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, and other chronic diseases."
In addition, an article appearing in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) had this to say: "…suboptimal intake of some vitamins, above levels
causing classic vitamin deficiency, is a risk factor for chronic diseases and common in the general population..."
In addition, the JAMA went on to say, "Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet alone. Pending strong
evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements."
When You go Looking for Complete Multi Vitamins, What Do You Look For?
Most want to find Vitamin C at upwards of between 500 and 1000 mg, Vitamin D and Vitamin E at around 400 IU, and Vitamin A as beta-carotene at about 10,000 IU.
If you are a lady of childbearing age, complete multi vitamins should contain at least 400 mcg of folic acid and almost certainly more.
Your B Vitamins such as Vitamin B6 you most likely want at 50 mg and your Vitamin B12 at 100 mcg.
Jumping back to your minerals, complete multi vitamins should have at least 500 mg of calcium. If you don't get enough dairy products throughout your day, you want to add more calcium to bring
your intake up to between 1000 and 1200 mg daily.
What Do We Recommend?
We've seen lots of so called complete multi vitamins out there and we recommend not wasting your time or money on the mass
produced, mass marketed thrift store variety multivitamins.
Most skimp on the nutrients they provide and some are of questionable quality.
