Omega 3 Fish Oil Benefits will keep you healthy

Fish oil is oil derived from the tissues of oily fish such as salmon, cod, makeral and herring.

Fish oil from the tissues of fatty fish contain what's called omega 3 fatty acids.  These omega 3 fatty acids are called EPA and DHA.  We all know that most of us don't eat enough fish to get enough of these omega 3 fatty acids that's why fish oil supplements may be a good idea.

Omega-3 fish oil benefits have also been linked to a lessening of depression.  Preliminary evidence has shown that supplementation with fish oil may help to elevate a persons mood, behavior, and brain function.  Keep in mind that these studies are in the preliminary stage and will require further analysis.  However we do know that omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for proper neurotransmitter synthesis, serotonin uptake and many other of your brain's neurologic functions.

When looking for fish oil supplements make sure the product is not fish liver oil.  Fish liver oil may contain high amounts of fat soluble vitamins A and D and should not be taken in excess. Also because of the fact that fish oil supplements decrease one's blood platelet stickiness, check with your doctor if you are taking anticoagulent drugs.
